Walter Reed Receives Outstanding Small Area Plan Award

The National Capital Area Chapter of the American Planning Association (NCAC-APA) announced the recipients of the 2012 biennial planning awards.

Award for an Outstanding Small Area Plan:  The Reuse Plan of the Former Walter Reed Army Medical Center (Washington, D.C.)

National Capital represents over 700 professional planners, related professionals, planning board and commission members, elected officials, and citizen planners and is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of sound planning and land use practices in the Washington, DC area.

Renée M. Kamen, AICP, Immediate Past President and Co-chair of the 2012 awards program noted that the “2012 awards program provides an important opportunity to recognize outstanding plans, projects, programs, p rofessionals, public leadership, and citizen engagement in the National Capital Area, including the District of Columbia, Prince George’s County, Montgomery County, and northern Virginia”.
